Kitchen cabinets for Porto flats

We build kitchen carcasses and fronts sized to the room you have — not a showroom bay. Base units often land between 45 and 58 cm deep so a Cedofeita galley still leaves a clear walk past an open oven door.

Wall units are hung after we check plaster thickness and old timber battens. Ribeira kitchens with uneven floors get adjustable legs and a scribed plinth so the run reads level even when the tiles do not.

Timber and fronts we keep in stock

Birch plywood carcasses with oak, ash, or painted MDF fronts cover most briefs. For Foz apartments we prefer sealed oak over raw softwood so coastal humidity does not cup doors within a season.

Handles stay simple: recessed pulls or short brass bars that survive wet hands. Soft-close hinges are standard; we still leave a service gap so a future plumber can reach the dishwasher valve without cutting a panel.

Working around Porto building quirks

Many buildings near Santa Catarina keep shared gas risers and thick chimney breasts. We draw around those volumes first, then fill the remaining wall with storage that does not hide meters or stopcocks.

If your engineer already fixed sink and hob positions, we treat those as locks. If not, we propose a layout that keeps the fridge door clear of the entry and the bin away from the heat of the hob.
