Finishes applied before the van leaves

Most fronts leave our workshop painted or oiled so dust stays off your apartment floors. Site touch-ups cover only scribed edges and screw caps after install.

For kitchens we use water-based lacquer systems that resist splash marks better than raw oil alone. Wardrobe doors in quieter bedrooms can take a softer oil finish that shows grain without a plastic sheen.

Colour and sample boards

We keep sample boards for common Porto wall colours — soft whites, warm greys, and the deeper greens clients choose for Cedofeita kitchens. You take a board home for evening light; Ribeira rooms change tone when the street lamps come on.

Edge banding matches the face. Visible plywood edges can stay honest where the brief calls for workshop character, but wet zones get sealed edges so steam does not lift the veneer.

Maintenance you can do yourself

Oiled oak needs a light re-oil once a year if the kitchen sees heavy cooking. Lacquered fronts wipe with a damp cloth; avoid abrasive pads that fog the sheen.

We leave a labelled touch-up pot with each job so a scratched plinth near the bin can be repaired without a second workshop visit.
